Sunday May 16th
Tours and Field Trips: Sign up at the registration desk for the tour you wish to attend.
Bring water, a hat, sun screen, and a snack.
Tour 1: Self-guided tour of the TULAROSAL HISTORIC DISTRICT and
its National Register-listed properties. Tours can be taken at any
time. Maps of Tularosa with brief descriptions of the listed properties
are included in each conference packet.
Tour 2: THREE RIVERS PETROGLYPHS: (to be developed)
Tour 3: RIO TULAROSA DITCHES AND RUINS: Meet at the Tularosa
Community Center at 9:30 am, where Dave Greenwald will escort you
to Four Corners Research. The tour will require hiking approximately
3 to 3.5 miles round-trip. We will cross the Rio Tularosa twice, so
anticipate getting your feet wet. The hike to the water fall and back
along the acequias is rated moderate (some up and downs, mostly
along and existing roadways and trails).
